What is truly sad is its 2023, and we still need stuff like this. I think we need the entire world to sit down all at once and watch Blazing Saddles to end all this.

My best friend was black! He was from the city and I was a country boy. We both called each other every name under sun and even made up a few, we never got mad at each other. We both knew at the end of the day, we'd die back to back fighting whatever came at us.

The terms he used are stereotypes, words used to divide us as a people. When it all comes down to it, we all have the same struggle, privilege's and so on. Struggle has no color and people need to comprehend that.
  • It's about two things, for me. 1). You are right on track. Taking the power out of deep-rooted, stereotypical words. 2). EVERY group has both good AND bad people.

The open mind to hear the real message is necessary for a song like this. The biggest line for me was when he said, "They pin us against each other, sit back and they watch it happen" meaning the powers that be, the politicians and media use those words without using them, to keep everyone at each other's throats and separated. Adam is a real one though. Him and his best friend used to travel from the suburbs to the hoods of Chicago to battle rap. They were the only white boys and they got al lot of respect for having the balls to do something like that. Adam's been to prison and had no problem fighting anyone. A few years ago there was a rapper talking alot of smack about Adam, he'd whoop his ass yadda yadda. Adam doesn't do internet beef. He did however post that he bought the dude a plane ticket, rented him a car and got him a hotel room so he could come to Michigan and fight Adam in the Muay Thai gym he trains at wiyy no cameras inside so it could be just them two, man to man, no one jumping in, no knives or guns. Up until that moment dude was the General of the Keyboard Commandos. He backed out and made excuse after excuse why he couldn't come. Everyone online saw this dude b*tch out and that was the end of his up and coming rap career. He hasn't been heard of since. BUT there's something sad about this video. The man the camera showed when Adam said the line "All you do is smoke weed" the guy rolling the blunt, his name was William Pickering, a rapper also known as EBE Bandz and Billy Da Kid. There was a drug deal gone wrong and he was kidnapped, beaten with a baseball bat and set on fire. His body wasn't found for two weeks. All the suspects were convicted and sent to prison except for the ring leader. He skipped bail right before trial started and hasn't been seen since. He was convicted absentia. Adam wanted to help out the family so he paid for William's funeral.

IMO, most important line was "THEY pit us against each other, sit back and watch it happen". i think THEY are desperate to keep us fighting against each other so we don't notice what evil bastards THEY are and come together to get rid of THEM. Respect.
  • You are correct.. and Adam grew up in Chicago as a white battle rapper in an all black scene and was well accepted and respected. Obviously he has close friends on both sides.
  • @GothamsHer0
After Stevie Knight saw this video he sat down with Adam Calhoun about it. It's a really good talk.
  • What I get from this song is you can't judge a person on color. Just because you are a certain color doesn't mean you are like some of others. Big fan Adam C
  • I love it when someone takes the time to listen to the lyrics. In the end we are ALL humans and are faced with the same challenges.
  • @drlector67
We need more open minded reaction channels like her!!! ❤
  • "They pin us against each other, sit back and they watch it happen." Yep. Have to change that. I'm so glad to see music rippin with a message of unity.
  • @xzkt
Adam is a rapper from South Chicago. He honed his craft battle rapping there. Did you notice he did the “N” word verse in the hood and when he mentioned drug use it was a white guy that blazed up. I think it is funny a guy from South Chicago is called a country rapper.
  • Open-minded fellow woman here…and I love watching your reactions!! I feel like you hit the nail directly on the head with this one. I’m a new subscriber and looking forward to watching more videos from you! Also love your motto…’have the day that you deserve’ ❤️

First time watching one of your Reaction videos and I LOVED IT!!! I, personally, think you nailed it when breaking down the song and understanding the message Adam was trying to get across PERFECTLY!!! Can't wait to see more of your reactions!!!❤
  • @skoden8353
First of all, i love watching your reactions. you have my full attention no matter what you are reacting to. Gorgeous of course, but also intelligent and i smile when i see your brain working to figure out what the artists are trying to get across. Any who, he is saying that both sides have their derogatory names and what they mean, but not everyone is like the people those names are describing.
  • @KillaK2035
You got it right girl!! I’m a straight whites man! And that is the exact point! Every culture has good and has bad in it. We’re basically all the same!
