  • This is Yoongi life story, his accident when he was a trainee, his mom’s heart surgery and his dad’s liver cancer.
  • All this happened to him Yoongi in the past in 2012 had a car accident while working as a delivery (just like the video) and broke his shoulder and made a surgery in 2020 because he was afraid to tell the company when he was a trainee to not kick him out and then didn’t want to do the surgery because of his group to not disrupt the group’s work he was afraid + when he was born his mam did a heart surgery + his dad had a cancer + he faced depression for so long and even thought about kîlling himself and went to a psychologist .. it was hard for him because his family was so poor he had to go to school, work and train at the same time .. he didn’t eat to have money to take the bus It shows that he made the scar himself, it represents what he went through, yoongi said he meant to show the scar healing in haegeum unlike daechwita .. he said that mean he is okay now and he said agust d is one of his personalities who faced these things, you can see suga tried to kill agust d the personality with the scar in both daechwita and haegeum , he is trying to kill and forget his bad memories that made that person to continue his life . and he will stop to do songs under agust d again because the scar is healed now but that doesn’t mean the end he said if he found other things to talk about he will do , but now might release things under suga or yoongi He is so brave and we are proud of him that he didn’t give up

The whole MV is seriously just Yoongi bearing his history and thoughts. It's personal and raw. All the scenes just gives imagery on the things that actually happened. It gets to me so hard, he's sharing this much and he's overcome his struggles. The whole album is amazing My thoughts also on the scar (we don't know all that he's gone through explicitly), but that he 'did that/hurt' himself in the MV in what we see later on as AgustD's mark in Daechwita and Haegeum to then him 'killing' that part is so much to take in
  • This is not just mere a story plot for an mv but all these painful events actually happened to yoongi in real life. my heart feels so heavy I can’t stop crying. I’m just glad yoongi is still with us today.
  • Okay so, the comments have outlined the basics. This is really Yoongi's story. Yoongi's life was not easy, unlike the majority of the other members (other than V), he came from working poor family. His family owned a small blood sausage restaurant that went back generations in Daegu, which some have referred to in parts as 'the slums of Korea' - not my definition, just what has been said. It's part of South Korea that has larger portions of people who are elderly remaining and still struggling post the korean war. So he had to really fight to make it. He did underground rap for a long time, and his parents were in no way spportive of his music goals, so it was really up to him to make it work. So he hustled and went out on his own working multiple jobs, a lot of the time giving up eating so he could make bus fair to try and perform or sell mixtapes, which sometimes he had stolen and lost money on. It sucked. When he finally made it into the Big Hit trainee program, he was still working those jobs, one of which was as a delivery driver - it was raining out and some asshole ran into him and dragged him up under the wheel of the car and nearly crushed him but it tore up his shoulder. Yoongi knew that it meant he would be kicked out of the program because it would hinder his dance performance, so instead he took a few days down and told everyone he tripped down some stairs - nothing serious. Then spent years dancing around barely able to lift his arm and in excruciating pain until damn near 2016/2017. The first few years after debut were hard all over again, Big Hit Entertainment was virtually bankrupt, and the company was looking at walking back the debut. But he and BTS busted their asses over-performing and pushing to get their names out there and make it work, at times funding money into their own debut. But this crazy schedule also stole precious time from them and in that time Yoongi found out his mom had a heart condition which shortly after re-opening her restaurant in new ways, forced her to close it and retire. He was over-medicating with pain pills throughout and got to a point of nearly taking his own life at this time but Jin saved him. The grittier details of that have not been aired. Then a few short years later BTS nearly disbanded just as they were starting to gain a foothold, their money had run out and BTS was paying to keep themselves on tour, but when they finally broke through the western music gatekeeping tradition and won an award and were recognized for songs like DNA & Idol, they finally started to recoup. The story Yoongi is conveying in Agust D is that he - Mn Yoongi, Suga of BTS, and Agust D are three versions of himself. Agust D is the self-manifested version of himself filled with all the pain and anger he was struggling with and bares the scar from the wounds he gave himself in trying to make his dreams of being a musician real. The first real clarity of how he hurt himself in the process - being him pushing himself through the pain of the ca wreck to keep going. In a way this song take responsibility for the hurt he caused himself, offering himself forgiveness for who he became and the choices he made, and Min Yoongi choosing to save himself and let go of all those hurts and grow from those experiences.

I'm surprised you 2 didn't know about Suga accident that happened in 2012. Everything in this video, is true. He is sharing and showing army his struggles in the pass. What he went through before BTS. Amygdala is a part of the brain. That controls emotion and fear. 😭😭😭🥵
  • @pujitarao600
Basically before the BTS debut, Yoongi used to work as a delivery guy, and during that time he had a terrible accident where he injured his left shoulder and that really impacted him badly because he thought if he'd mention the accident to the label he wouldn't be able to debut with the other members. But BH actually paid for his surgery and his college fees and all... To think he worked with that injury for 8-9 years before getting a proper surgery is just so admirable... And yes, all of this is real. Amygdala basically stores all the memories and fears. This song is basically about his life. From his accident to his parents to all the choices he's made and all that he's done to get to this point.
  • @mae__
Yes... it's not a K-pop concept it's his life story...
  • @Ahuraani
It’s also worth mentioning that he wrote the storyboard scripts for haegeum, daechwita, and amygdala! he was heavily involved in the mv makings
  • @odgykins
In his trainee days, Yoongi got a job as a food delivery driver to make extra money. He got into an accident that crushed his shoulder. He didn’t tell anyone in fear that he would be kicked out of the company. He finally got surgery to fix his shoulder during Dynamite era.
  • @ChipperCherry
He said "I don't know YOUR name" not his own name. Meaning he doesn't know the person listening but they might have felt the same way he did through the video.
  • @ariz347
Along with what everyone else is saying in the comments, Yoongi has talked a lot about his past in different things. A significant one is a song off his first mixtape called ‘The Last’. All this stuff indeed happened to him and Agust D basically represents the angry and traumatized version of Yoongi. The album trilogy is about his story and person growth. As well as coming to terms with his past and healing.
  • @jankook2958
Each part of the lyrics and mv is about his life and amygdala means a part of brain where all the trauma is stored ! Correct me if I'm wrong ✨☺️❤️
  • Please do not pigeonhole any artist into one genre. They are capable of so much more. Suga is a great story teller and expressing emotions that are hard to deal with in everyday life.
  • @diamond_0613
I just want to say that your discussions regarding the mv, and your insights are really deep and interesting!! Despite not knowing his backstory at all, you still managed to understand the symbolisms this mv hold. Loved your discussions here so muchh !
  • @cxxkie0197
This is not a dream, this is his history, this MV is really meaningful and beautiful 💜
  • Basically they really are not a fan of Suga or BTS. They don't have a clue what the MV is all about. Well, honest raw reaction though since they have no clue about it... But, being an Army, I just feel anxious when reactors are just guessing they are storylines. But in real life it really happened. Check the history afterwards though, both of you don't have any clue at all.
  • @ikweetnii3782
It isn’t really a storyline, it’s actually about his life story. All the different parts are about things that happend in his life. For example the car crash in the beginning of the mv, was the car crash that happens before debut when he was a delivery driver in which he injured his shoulder(causing him to no do any group activities a few years ago)
  • @Chloemegan
I really think he would appreciate that people are taking the time to not just listen to his music and watch his MVs but actually paying attention and understanding his story and what he is expressing through his lyrics and MV. I’m so proud of him, to be so vulnerable so publicly takes a lot of courage ❤ and I’m forever grateful that he made it through the hard times ❤
