The fact that they demolished Wiener Schnitzels and Yufkas and found it way lighter than american food says a lot about american food

That he described a Quarktasche as a diet donut is hilarious to me. How much sugar do you people have in your food over there???

Nothing better than watching newbies visiting Germany. So much fun seeing it from their eyes.

Grocery shopping is stressful in Germany. There always is a little competition between you and the cashier, whether she can scan the items quicker than you can put them in your bag. BTW: she won, if she tells you the total before you put everything away.

Tell me a lasting impression about Germany. "Oh, the paper towels in the bathrooms are unbelievably soft"

I love how NFL all-pro runningback Christian McCaffrey is introduced as "just a family friend." Looks like it was a great trip. I lived in Germany as a kid and your videos make me "homesick." Definitely plan on visiting in the near future.

Getting a bag before you checkout makes a lot of sense, because you need to pay for the bag, so you are motivated to bring your own, as to reduce waste.

I was glued to that. It is always fascinating to hear Americans reacting to Europe. I have to say I am always struck by how absolutely lovely, funny and intelligent your family and friends are. I hope they enjoyed the rest of their time in Germany.

I seriously loved seeing these guys appreciate Germany so much and expressing it. Their comparisons with US food really made me raise my eyebrows, I will admit. I‘ve lived here for a good while but I‘m falling in love with this country all over again, getting a reminder of how fabulous it is here.

"Oh my gawd, 50 cents to use the restroom, that is a rip-off." – "Wow, college just 25,000 per year? What a bargain. And they have a special offer for that life-saving surgery. I think I'll have two then!" Coming from the same people... Really, guys? Those bathrooms are PRIVATE bathrooms owned by a company that hires staff to keep them clean. Who is supposed to pay for their salary? Compare it to 20 percent (!!!) tip for waiters in the US, and I think we're even.

LOL if I had seen a bunch of grown-up guys eating hands full of Kinder chocolate at a street corner I would have died of laughter. So happy you guys got to experience BAVARIA. Still a few places to visit in Germany though, before you really know our country. 😀

A culture shock for me is that Americans don't pack their own things and don't bring their own bags before check-out lol, it's weird for me, since it also takes up extra time if the cashier does it and it probably isn't organised the way I want it to be.

To clarify: "Wiener Schnitzel" = made out of calf meat; "Schnitzel Wiener Art" = made out of pork meat. It is not allowed by law to sell "Wiener Schnitzel" if it isn't made out of calf meat :)

I wouldn’t mind paying for the Bathroom if,they’er clean,dry,& well,clean & non smelly! Worth it.

My family, in Germany for a family reunion and vacation, just left Schwäbisch Hall this morning. Beautiful town! Years ago, while visiting Schwäbisch Hall, I got stuck on the outside of the canvas wall they had erected to limit access to the main square. Must have been a concert or other performance taking place. I climbed under the canvas, trying to get back to our hotel or where my family was dining. I was greeted on the other side by two workers who probably thought I was trying to enter without a ticket. I pointed in the direction of where I needed to go and said the German equivalent of “my mommy and daddy are there.” They laughed hysterically and waved me through. We still laugh about the experience ourselves. My German is better, nur ein bischen, these days. Enjoy watching your uploads. Thank you.

I’m from the US where we have Aldis and I always take my reusable bags so grocery shopping was not as “horrifying” to me the first time in Germany haha

I recently went with my family to Germany for a wedding. It was my 3rd time but my families first and it was so enjoyable. It’s such a clean, friendly, and interesting place. It makes me happy to see others enjoy Germany as much as I do 😁

As someone from the Netherlands, I am always surprised by "Only Cash" signs in Germany and some other European countries. Here you will never find those signs. The only signs you will find here are with "NO Cash!".
