Preschool Learning Binder | Watch My TOT SCHOOL Binder Routine with my 2 Year Old

Published 2020-10-20
In this video, you'll get a look inside my simple, DIY preschool learning binder that I've been using with my bilingual 2 year old. When I filmed this, we had only just begun using the toddler learning binder, but at the time of posting the video, we've been using it for 3-4 weeks and I've been really impressed with the progress he's made with verbal skills in both Spanish and English since then. We have moved on to the next unit of the Gentle + Classical Preschool, so I've added more memory cards, although we still review the previous ones to continue working on his speech skills.

Printables that you'll see used in the binder are from Green Urban Creative, but as you'll notice, most of the pages I simply wrote out by hand. Never underestimate what you can do with markers, paper, and plastic page protectors! Have you incorporated a morning binder routine with your toddler or preschooler?

  • Great binder! Preschool was my favorite to teach. Keeping it simple is so important at that age.

Rachel!!! Great work!! I love how you are so resourceful! You’re right when you say we don’t have all the “fancy” material that everyone else uses!!! You’ve inspired me to make my own binder for my 2 year old! Thank you again for sharing! Blessings!
  • This is perfect! Sometimes simple is best! But his has some of those beautiful pages mixed in. Great job.
  • He’s adorable! Love the two languages idea. The binder set up is so nicely and simple done. Thanks for sharing!
  • I love this morning binder! So cute and I love the use of two languages. I think the printables and handwritten sheets work well together.
  • That was so awesome at the end to see you working with him. His baby voice is super cute 😍

Watch our learning binder routine in action, beginning around 12:55! This video was filmed around the 3rd or 4th day after I made the binder. We've now been using it for several weeks and I've added the Unit 2 +3 Science/Bible memory cards from Gentle + Classical Preschool 1 as we've progressed. He loves his binder and has actually brought it to me and asked to do it a number of times, even on days when we'd already done it together earlier in the day. I'm calling this a success for this season! Do you have any video requests?
