In this video we ask the important questions. How deadly/effective is your 9mm carry ammo? Here we use a Glock 17 firing 9mm vs a human torso analog from ballistic dummy labs. 9mm is a deadly round without a doubt and while the results are underwhelming (lol just 9mm) it still hopefully shows the ballistic capabilities of the round. As always we hope you enjoy!

“Built like a bowl of milk” is an insult I will be adding to my arsenal.
  • As I said before, that lab coat gives him basically full qualifications to do all of this He's practically a surgeon now

Just came to see the lungs get blown completely out of the body.

When I started my LEO career we carried revolvers. When we transitioned to 9mm Glocks, the first duty ammo was 115 grain and the department's experience with that let them/us to change to 147 grain subsonic 9mm ammo...which had much better results and stopping power. Eventually, we changed to .40 department wide for duty carry. But off-duty, if carrying a 9mm, the 147 grain remained the preference.

I would really like to see an video breaking down how different barrel lengths on some calibers at different distances influence the effect on target 🤔

I work in emergency medicine and I’ve seen a fair amount of gun shot wounds. Most of them are fmj from small calibers (25 acp, 22lr, 380). Those patients tend to live unless it’s to the heart, a major blood vessel, or brain stem. The patients I’ve seen with 9mm hollow points don’t live if the patient is shot in the trunk (chest or stomach). Most of the time (if not all of the time) quality hollow points pass all the way through. I personally carry Hornady critical duty because I’ve seen what it does..
  • The levels of enthusiasm in these videos is amazing, not only a great teacher, but also makes it look flawless and super entertaining. Thanks for the content man!

‘If you ever missed any target because you didn’t train’ Man, he should have a hell of a lot more subscribers. I know I got a hell of a lot better after my CCW class. Then further improved after my Beginner handgun class.

10:35 New Jersey, in their INFINITE firearms wisdom, has banned JHPs for carry/self defense. So, subjects of that state have to either carry plain ball FMJ ammo, something gimmicky like Extreme Defender or Glaser Safety Slugs or CorBon Pow'r Ball, something frangible and hope it breaks up after penetrating organs, or (preferably above ALL aforementioned options) something like Federal's EFMJ which is basically a bullet that has a lead base, a rubber nose, and a very thick copper jacket that covers over all of it. It looks and feels and shoots exactly like a FMJ bullet, but when it hits something that soft copper jacket collapses into the squishy rubber nose section and squashes it flat as a pancake against the lead base section so it mushrooms and sorta achieves the same JHP expansion effect. It's not the best, but it works better than plain ball. I just love how Federal created the EFMJ. It's a humongous middle finger and FUCK YOU to the asinine legislators who brew up such ridiculous bullshit as that.

Would love to see a video comparing the best hollowpoints to ARX type rounds. From what i've seen, those seem to be the future of defense ammo.
  • Love your channel man. Educational but really fun. You guys seem like you’d be fun to hang out with.

“Somewhere out there, there is a private sitting on the railway at NTC…” I felt that.
  • The Hornady did exactly as designed; penetration, expansion and mass kinetic energy dump inside the target without over penetration = dead right there. With some clothing on the torso we might see some slightly different results with the HP ammo.

Aside form the info, it's just fun watching these guys work together.

Just found this channel in the last day or so from watching demoranch, Kentucky ballistics and theAKguy and I gotta say you might be my new favorite YouTube gunner boy haha. Love the content so far man look forward to seeing more

I’m watching this in the bedroom with my gf who I assumed wasn’t paying any attention, but when Mike asked, “What feels illegal, but isn’t illegal?” in the intro she immediately answered, “An 18 yr old?”😂 WTF?!? My lady is savage AF bro!! REAL TALK!!

I know you’re already doing the “how to be deadly in the mountains” series but I also think it would be cool to get a rundown on your urban EDC setup and what you keep in your truck.
  • The critical defense is designed to get up to speed in a subcompact. I'd love to see all of these rounds fired through a small barrel and see if CD is actually better or if it's all smoke and mirrors.
  • @DylanKreutzer
Please do another video with sub-compact handguns! Would also love to see a wider range of ammunition options tested, since the really widely regarded ones like Speer Gold Dot can be so hard to find and so expensive when you do find them
