Today, I sit down with our third time guest, the one and only Dr. Daniel Amen. Dr. Amen is a physician, double board-certified psychiatrist, twelve-time NY Times bestselling author, and founder and CEO of Amen Clinics, with 10 US locations. Dr. Amen emphasizes the importance of our brain health. He explains how taking care of our brain and mental health is a constant daily practice, comparing the things we do to boost our brain health to eating foods that will love our body back, foods that we love to eat and are beneficial to our health. We share our thoughts on why our generation is the unhappiest and uncontented, what we can do to boost our happiness hormones, and how happiness is always tied to our health.

Get more science-based tips from Dr. Amen to achieve a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life despite the challenges and difficulties we may be going through today.

  • Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
  • 1. Be grateful for everything you have because there's always someone that is better or worse at something
  • I was diagnosed with Trauma since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting ADHD. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. This is something that really need to be use globally to help people with related health challenges.
  • Everyday is a blessing. Be grateful for everything. Accurate thinking, find joy in the gifts God has given us. Many blessings to all.

I turned 75 in May. Quit drinking, smoking, eating meat that's dead, and eliminating pharmaceuticals completely. I feel great!
  • I'm 87 and thrilled to find such great support and instruction for the future. Thank you a hundred times over.😊
  • As a registered nurse who has passed countless medications, I 100% ABSOLUTELY LOVE his purpose! It saddens me to see how easy practitioners will write a script, which never really gets to the root of the cause. He actually prefers to treat the root cause and attempt to change habits first. Best of luck to you Dr. Amen!!

The needle in the haystack of unhealthy western culture. This is a gold mine to living THE GOOD LIFE. Unbelievable how enlightening, positive, and game changing this video is for so many Americans; the most empowering self improvement video I’ve seen for years. THANK YOU, I’ll keep sharing this ! ❤😊
  • "Live each DAY based on clearly defined values, purpose and goals." Everyday healing: Say to myself (first thing!) in the morning: Today is going to be a great day. Ask myself: Is this good for my brain? Is this bad for my brain? Write down feelings (of stress, anxiety, anger) and ask myself: is it true? Write the opposite and ask myself: is it true? Tell myself @ night: (Prayer +) What went well today?

Hi...My name is also Jay. You may never read this and that's ok. I want to thank you for letting me discover me and spread joy to the world around me. I have recently embarked on a self realization journey and randomly found your podcast. You are now easily said, one of the most inspirational figures in my life. I now try to share your words daily and have shared you podcast with others. Visualizations like the story of the architect and the three masons have transformed how I view and operate in my day to day life. Thank you again and peace be with you brother.

It's the little things in life that mean the most to me. Seeing and hearing the sound of my wife laughing. There are blessings everywhere I look. I am simply grateful. Angel from The Bay

This CD has three separate relaxation/meditation sessions on it youtube.com/post/Ugkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIat… guided by a very pleasant and direct male voice. Unlike so many other products of its type, this CD does not have bad synthesizer music, does not feature a phony or affected style of narration, and does not make any bogus claims to be subliminal or to re-train the brain or any of that balderdash. What you get is 1. a guided meditation for getting into a pleasantly relaxed state of body awareness while taking a stroll (superb for those easing back into a fitness routine slowly after an illness or injury) 2. A nice long breath-awareness relaxation session that if followed diligently can put you into very deep states of full-body relaxation and mental calmness, and 3. a buddhist-inspired meditation session designed to help you develop and maintain feelings of loving kindness toward not just yourself and your friends, but toward people you don't even like. The CD makes no claims to be designed for advanced meditators or for buddhists or hindus/yoga practitioners looking for very deep and esoteric stuff. It is geared more toward the average person who just wants to develop the habit of relaxation and stress relief through natural, healthy means. him, if you happen to be reading this, keep up the good work fella, and I love your accent. I would also like to note that I have never fallen asleep while listening to this product. I would like to kindly suggest to the reviewer who said this CD makes him fall asleep, that he might want to get checked to see if he has a sleep disorder, or if he is simply not setting aside ample time for restful sleep at night. A healthy person getting adequate rest at night should be able to go into deep states of mental relaxation without dozing off, if not all the time, then most of the time.
