Even more interesting, historically there are/ were a number of American Indian tribes who treated severe illnesses with "sweat lodge" exposure/time...the equivalent of a sauna in Europe.

When I was a kid in the early 70s, my parents who were older than average paents, always said to sweat out a cold or flu. Of course you would not want the temperature to go over 104 degrees. Then later the pediatricians recommended acetaminophen for everything, and it seemed like the infections lasted longer.

I am in awe, how you fit the puzzle together . So observant, pulling in all kinds of new bits of information that is so vital to health care. Quite a different doc you are always asking the important questions, seeking to find answers, and prove your case like a lawyer on fire.We are very fortunate to hear your words.Thank you for sharing with us. 😷

No wonder in my culture ( Eastern Europe) we believe that when one is sick with acute infection, laying under several layers of blankets and sweating profusely would help recover much sooner. Somehow, it always worked for me. Several of my relatives still go to sauna and stay there for some time whenever they start feeling sick with cold/ flu and report feeling better afterwards.

I RARELY comment on videos. I'm a surgery resident from Canada and watch all of your updates religiously. The research that goes into these videos is astounding. I've shared them with my colleagues, family and friends. We thank you one million times. Also - The Knick had an episode where they injected Malaria into a patient to treat her Syphilis... The evidence behind heat therapy is mind-blowing.

Very interesting.I have a Friend in Mexico that his wife and daughter have tested positive for COVID-19, but not him. He owns a Sauna and he is the only one in the house that uses it regularly.

About seventy years ago, I read a then ancient book of my father's, Beside the Bonnie Brier Bush, which was a collection of sentimental, melancholy stories set in impecunious rural Scotland. In one chapter a man had fallen ill. The doctor made his way to the house through bad weather (of course) and remarked sadly as he got busy, "I'm the last of the old school." He called for a fire, blankets and a tub of cold water and then proceeded judiciously warming the man until he sweat and chilling him until his teeth rattled. By daybreak it was clear the man would live. Thank you for reminding me of the tearjerker of my youth. My own care is a bit different, In college Ii was on the wrestling team and about at highly trained as physiology permits. We would practice in a roasting hot training room all afternoon on the principle that if we sweat enough we could compete at lower weight categories. After practice, topped of with a really hot shower, I'd pull on a light coat and walk to the fraternity shivering and combing ice out of my hair. I sniffled all winter. As always, your excellent work is greatly appreciated.
