My mum and dad were working there in the 60s&79s. Dad helped build lodgings for scientists and my mum was doing biology work going to identify different species etc. I was born there and spent the first 5 years there until my dad got sick and they decided to move back to Brisbane where they had a house and my mum still lives in it. I've been there a lot over the past 30 years. It's a special place indeed

We were blessed to visit this 19 years ago, it is a magical and breathtaking place; stark, harsh, fragile, wonderful.and tranquil. A special place and welcoming people. Amazing from this wonderful video how little the place has changed! Full credit to Ian still doing what he does for all these years.

Well hello again Ian Hutton. I remember you from when you were at the met office at Williamtown RAAF Base and was involved with the Scout Group. Andrew my brother as well as I, John still remember when you and your lovely Wife said we are going to Lord Howe Island! You have done wonderful things in the 40 plus years since then Mate. Cheers, John, Australia.
  • I was extremely fortunate to have spent 10 days on Lord Howe Island in 2018. Sailed there from the Australian mainland. Almost didn't make it battling big seas and strong winds, but after 3 days we finally dropped anchor in the stunning lagoon. We had the lagoon all to ourselves the whole time we were there and every day we went ashore to explore this magnificent island.
  • Amazing documentaries. Thanks to people like Ian Hutton spending his life preserving the ecosystem of Lord Howe. Wish there are more people like you who cares for God- given nature. Thanks for this substantial information.
  • what an incredible island, thankyou for posting this magical film. Ian is an inspiring personality, i really hope he is still on the island and was awarded a permanent home for all his amazing work for nature and the Islanders.
  • Simply Amazing Documentary and hats off to Mr. Ian Hutton, What a wonderful human being!

  • From New Zealand. Thank you, I thoroughly enjoy watching such beautiful, almost untouchable wonders of nature, and all it's glory😊❤
  • I don't know how I stumbled upon this documentary but wow...this island is absolutely breathtaking! I feel truly grateful for the devotion and commitment of Ian Hutton who has been working to protect the fragile ecosystem of Lord Howe. Even though my 50 minutes before going to work has gone, it was totally worth watching. 🎍🎋🦜🦚🐦
  • Unbelievable natural beauty! I hope Australian politicians will do their best to protect such a paradise.
  • Ian is a gifted and wonderful human being. Such a inspiring and informative documentary
  • This is the most amazing and wonderful of Eden Island, which this documentary makes everything so interesting to watch. I’d call it The Wonderland Of Australia 🇦🇺😍💝
  • I am pretty sure this island was doing pretty well until Lord Howe arrived.
  • Ian Hutton may be a newcomer to the island, but they would be lost without his valuable knowledge and research. He must also be a very fit man!
  • We need to make a petition for this man to stay on this island to help the ecosystem. He does so much and saved so many animals, plants, sea animals, insects ect.. and documents everything and also taught many others vital information that will be useful for this island and its habitats in the future. I hope he can continue to help this ecosystem and its habitats and the help from others to save all its species especially all that are endangered and only found on this island in the whole world. So glad it's been monitored and saved so diligently. It seems many species may not have survived without the help he has provided over the 25years he has been there and of course the rest of the islanders that have helped save this ecosystem.
