I love how she says girls who got interested in gaming in the 80s and 90s were met with cultural shunning. Lady, I GUARANTEE you that every single boy who played video games was all too thrilled to find a girl who liked video games too. I walk with my father every morning. He's an older gent in his 70s, and he can't relate to me about video games, it's just not his cup of tea. Around five years ago, I was trying to explain to him about how activists were starting to take over my favorite games, comics, tv shows, etc... And I still remember what I said to him "You know me dad, I'm not right wing, I'm not left... I play my video games... I keep to myself... I don't bother people... But they fucked up, because you have this entire generation of people like me... The silent majority... And you screamed at us to wake up... Well Congratulations... Women being shunned by society for playing games is a lie. It was women who were opposed to it. I only ever experienced ostracization for being a gamer by my female relatives and friends. Guys have always believed girls playing games is cool.
