    Saints row 1 wasn’t riding off of GTA’s success they were developing this game before rockstar came out with San Andreas or any trailers, they already knew this game would be wrongly named as a GTA clone before they even released it so bad when their original gang color for the saints was going to be green but GTA SA came out and their colors were green, so they changed it to purple.

    Hey man, nice video! It's a shame you didn't enjoy SR. It seems like we had completely different experiences. The similarities with SA were very unfortunate, but Volition didn't copy SA as development on SR started in 2003 and by the time SA was released most of the mechanics were already designed. We both picked up on the similarities between GTA 3 and SR missions though, which was cool. I agree about the missions and the writing too, although I put that down to 2006 humour which is very outdated. I really enjoyed replaying SR, but maybe I've been desensitised from a lot of the retro frustration from playing the old GTA games. That final Carnales mission was a killer!

    This game was never a gta clone imo same genre yea but i love saints row 2 more then any other game i ever played its so much to do to keep you entertained for hours yea gta is great too but both games has stuff that the other doesnt

    i dont think of it as a rip off of gta but more of a compeditor for them like u got burger king and mcdonals thay compeditor not rip off
