Hey, long time no see. I feel like I need to apologize for the not so usual long wait. I know at this point I'm very late (I mean, a whole new expansion was just released lol) but I promised myself I'd quit switching projects. I had to divide it into 2 cause this was getting past the half hour, the majority of Part 2 is done but I'm about to go out of town so it'll probably take 2 weeks to be truly done.

So, werewolves. I made a poll asking which was the least likely supernatural to return and werewolves were the most likely to return, guess simmers do love this one. I hadn't played enough with werewolves up until now, and I can say it's one of the instances were each is a different concept. I mean, they're all wolflike sims, but they were handled very differently. I quite prefer when they do this tbh.

Which version is your favorite so far?

My opinion?

Sims 1, I wasn't gonna include it but when I did vampires some people were asking about Vicky the Vampire so better safe than sorry but it's obviously quite basic, it's just one of many costumes.

Sims 2 is where I think the real werewolves began, and even then, looking at werewolves now, these are pretty damn basic still. They were just a neat addiction in Pets so I'm sure they didn't think much of them.

Sims 3 werewolves had a lot more personality to them, they were 1 of many supernaturals so I understand the focus wasn't all in them, but they still did a decent job imo. I love their interactions and the ways to transform.

Sims 4 is an obvious step up but only because a whole game pack was dedicated to them, much like witches, the EA way. I'm not sure how to feel about that but I do like these werewolves, their looks were a bit off putting when I first saw them, but I guess I've gotten used to them by now lol. I love their CAS and their interactions and the way you're constantly dealing with Fury (which can be turned off) so it feels like an actual game. Their world is a big plus but I'm not here to talk about the pack as a whole so this is the only mention you'll see of that, but it's pretty good! They're nailing down the open world little by little.

So to me, this part was won by Sims 3 and 4. But that's just my opinion, let me know what you think and I'll see you on the next one.

I think I prefer the look of the sims 2 werewolves. They look more creepy like the original horror roots, sims 4’s looks like someone’s online fursona

I know people don't like the appearance of TS3 werewolves but I think they're really fun, I love how toddler werewolves do little baby howls and chew furniture
  • 14:27 I like how the guy with umbrella, absolutely calmly walked past the werewolves playing, as if he sees this every day))
  • You know, werewolves in Sims 3 are really ugly, but the gameplay surrounding them is actually really good!
  • I’m surprised Ts3 has more unique interactions despite ts4 one being a separate pack

When it comes to interactions, Sims 3 werewolves win by a landslide for me. Biggest problem is that they look a little too human. I love the wolf man appearance of the Sims 2 werewolves. And the power/fury system of Sims 4 looks VERY fun to mess with.

Sims 3 is the clear winner for being able to imply the mother was a poodle xD

when ts4 actually focuses a game pack on a specific occult, it usually turns out good (vampires and werewolves are great, can’t say much for spellcasters bc i haven’t played them). when they just include it in as a side thing is when their occults are some of the worst, like mermaids, plantsims, and aliens.

The ultimate insult for a werewolf: Imply mother is a poodle! lmao

I love sims 2 and 3 but I gotta give sims 4 their credit with occults I like the perks and powers system in Sims 4 with occults and I think they did amazing with werewolves. My only complaint is that they look too cartoonish and I wish there were more animations and interactions for occult sims and it sucks that occult toddlers and children are ignored in Sims 4
  • @silyknow
I had no idea there were werewolves in TS1!

Sims 3 is winner for me for one small detail: they did not ignore children werewolves. Mind you, even Sims 3 did ignore some supernaturals' children (and this was especially sad for children witches for me, since I treally wanted to make child Harry Potter 😅), but child werewolves had a lot of werewolf's interactions and heck, even werewolf toddlers did have some unique interactions. In Sims 4, neither of this is true. You can't even create child werewolf in CAS, for goodness sake! Sadly, trhe only supernatural where they did not ignore children in Sims 4 was alien and even there is still a lot to be desired for kids. And that's really bad thing for me, family player. So, for this and also because werewolves don't look like two-legged dogs, Sims 3 is a winner for me.

The Sims 3 guys also transform if they're in a super low mood like the full moon thing :)

I like the temperaments idea but the Sims 3 werewolves seem scarier. Also they benefit from the fact that they had more unique audio clips with appropriate tone. Sims 4 werewolves just sound like normal sims a lot it seems
  • Sims 4 Werewolves are amazing. I love the powers you have to unlock and the status you have to build just like in vampires and spell casters. They have really cute things like teaching their kids how to howl and being "fated mates" with their partner. There are definitely things I love about the previous Sims, but S4 has the werewolf game almost perfect ❤
