Known as the "mother of mindfulness" and the "mother of positive psychology," Dr. Langer's work has shown that our thoughts can influence our physical well-being, from weight loss to wound healing. Today we dive into her fascinating findings and her bold theory of mind-body unity.

YES! Our body listens and you should tell it every day…I love my heart, my lungs, my kidneys, my liver, my pancreas….I love myself! I am healthy and all my cells are alive and happy. I am free of disease and I am I feel amazing. I am safe. All is well. Thank you, thank you

Just ordered her book! I was chronically unwell while married to narcissistic, controlling person. He dumped me due to my health. My health improved after divorce. I still have residual health woes but I'm better than before
  • This interview should be broken down into quotes and turned into flashcards for daily reminders of life wisdom.

I recently found a lover , for the first time in my life - at 68yrs of age … going on now for a couple of years …. It’s had an incredible impact on me … and I’m completely rejuvenated…. My partner is the same age as myself…🤣

So good to hear this. I’m 70 years. Starting this new year I am rollerblading as a new exercise form while feeling like a kid and Stop worrying about issues my family and friends are going through. What difference in enjoying my days.

100%.@ 59 I've lost my husband ,my parents & a child. Although I grieve I dont stay in it. I've watched people stay in that horrible place after losing a loved one. It consumes their every thought. I often think this is the person who will be diagnosed w/cancer. Our bodies & minds weren't meant to stay in a constant state of distress.

I love everything I’ve heard so far! It reminds me when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and the doctors said that nobody my age (29) had ever had this kind of tumor. It was so weirdly freeing to me because instead of being scared, I felt empowered that since there was no precedent, I could recover better than anybody. It was intense, but it did work out that way!

I have often wondered who conducted this wonderful study. Love her! I am a hypnotherapist and have healed several of my own medical conditions through the mind.

I'm going to buy this book, read it, write a message and then leave it in a public place and hopefully the person who picks it up will do the same.
  • @BeatheSommer
I have just started watching but I just have to comment on how much I love her looking like a wise woman! I am currently 36 years old, but ever since I can remember I have always wanted to grow into a wise woman. I was even celebrating when I found my first grey hair telling everybody about it, haha. So to everybody out there thinking young people only care about their apperance and looks, that is simply not true! For me my core values and inner knowlegde has always been the most important thing 🙌🏻 I just simply LOVE growing on the inside 😁 And off course the inside is what I treasure most in other people too ✨🙏
  • This podcast is so rich! If only we could make this into a subject in schools. It's a gift to self.

bring life to your years and not years to your life...amazing!
  • @annefischer1433
I have often said and agree with the doctor Langer that the most important relationship is the one with yourself. Nobody can make you angry four other negative thing feeling we have. We do it to ourselves . That's why we can't forgive anybody else. We have to forgive ourselves which simply means letting go of whatever negative hostile resentful feeling we have towards someone because it's not doing us any good to keep holding on to a negative feeling. it's going to make us sick. Coming full circle.
  • @Silvi-a
Finally someone who actually has something original to say without trying to impress anyone. Love this - best interview in a long long time.
  • @JR764.._
I have been practicing this for over 20 years. When I let stress overwhelm it becomes practically impossible to destress. Healing ourselves through believing we are healthy when we aren’t is the most important strategy to take our lives into our own hands.
  • @angel.heart007
I’ve been dealing with anxiety and panic disorder for 12 yrs… and the past few months have hit me hard. I also deal with health anxiety, so bodily symptoms trigger my anxiety attacks. I’m constantly thinking and waiting for things to happen. It’s horrible. The stress in my body is taking its toll. Nights and into the morning are the worst. I’m going to try her advice🙏🏼
  • @darlenelove7425
This lady is fascinating. Best interview I’ve heard in a long time.
  • Negativity causes stress. By avoiding it, sickness,.aging,... name them would not be topics of discussion.Being positive makes us skip most of them. We remain strong, rarely fall sick, and keep looking younger for as long as necessary .
  • @eileenwatt8283
The life we create for ourselves determined our stress levels including the person you choose as partner, the environment you work and live in.
