This channel is mandatory viewing for me now. I have no medical background, yet you are able to explain complex topics in such a way that even I can understand the key points.

Hi, I'm a neuro working on a data set of CoV pts with neuropsych manifestations (post-ICU delirium & dementia as well as cognitive & neurosensory dysfunction). It's similar to what we see post-op, eg, in CABG pts. Hypoxia causes brain damages; this is widely known & i've never seen such a large data set of pts with (what I believe) is hypoxia-induced cognitive dysfunction. Can you please make a video covering this, bc I feel like there is not sufficient info being shared, particularly among acute care & ER providers. I realize not every clinic has a neuro available, but please do not discharge pts without some level of neuropsych eval - even if you're simply confirming knowledge of name, day, president, etc. With proper therapy many pts can regain function. HOWEVER it is vital that pts be closely monitored & ICU interventions not be over-used.

As an obstetrician. Recently a maternal patient with type 2 diabetes who contracted covid 19 deteriorated rapidly, delivered her by caesarean section under general anaesthesia and subsequently transferred to ITU where she was ventilated for further 3 days. She had CT scan which showed a massive cerebral thrombosis which resulted in wide spread cerebral ischaemia. The covid 19 is not only causing microthrombi but also major thrombus. In my opinion covid patient who are in ITU should recieve therapeutic level of anticoagulantion rather than prophylactic dose. I understand we need further evaluation before reaching conclusion.

Ha Dr Seheult must actually read these messages when I posted that NY's ER Dr Cameron Kyle-Sidell said ventilators were hurting more than helping his patients and that they exhibited H.A.S.
