0:00 Introduction: How to clean out your arteries and reduce the risk of heart disease

1:34 High LDL cholesterol
2:20 The best nutrients to support your heart
5:13 The best foods for blocked arteries
12:33 Learn more about biofilms!

Let’s talk about the best meal you could eat to clean your arteries and reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

The plaque that can build up in the arteries is a combination of calcium, protein, and cholesterol. In many cases, the calcium results from biofilms, which are colonies of microbes with something like a shell to protect themselves.

Biofilms tend to accumulate on roughened edges—if the arteries are smooth and strong, they probably won’t accumulate there. Lesions, oxidation, inflammation, or damage could lead to plaque in the arteries.

Typically, a person with clogged arteries will also have high LDL cholesterol (small-dense particle size LDL). Both arterial plaque and this type of LDL are correlated with a high-carb, high-sugar diet.

The best nutrients to support the cardiovascular system and reduce the risk of heart disease:
1. Vitamin K2
2. Vitamin C
3. Vitamin E
4. Omega-3 fatty acids

The best meal for your cardiovascular system:
• Wild-caught salmon
• Sauerkraut
• A large arugula salad with extra-virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar, sunflower seeds, Parmigiano cheese, and garlic.

One addition IMPORTANT point: heat destroys vitamin C (as in "pasteurization"), so when you get your sauerkraut, find one that is raw or make it yourself.
  • 2:20 The best way to prevent, slow down or reverse plaquing in the arteries: • Vitamin K2 • High vitamin C foods • Vitamin E • Keep your Omega-6 fatty acids very low and keep your Omega-3 fatty acids very very high 5:13 The best foods for blocked arteries: • Wild-caught salmon • Sauerkraut (a fermented cabbage product): it's loaded with vitamin K2, it's also loaded with Vitamin C (7 times the RDA) • A big arugula salad with extra-virgin olive oil, apple cider vinegar (or red balsamic vinegar), sunflower seeds, Parmigiano cheese (get the authentic type from Italy), and garlic Thank you Dr. Berg Sincerely, 11 : 11 Meditation Portal Channel

Okay so lemon and apple cider vinegar water, Sauerkraut, Salmon with garlic, natto with more garlic, and olive oil on arugula salad with avocado, sunflower seeds, italian parmigiano cheese. Here's my grocery list for the week 😅.

For those of us who aren't American, aragula is also called Rocket.
  • For decades I have made my own dressings: cold pressed, organic olive oil, ACV, garlic and herbs, sea salt, a little Dijon mustard for creamy consistency. Put in a jar, shake vigorously. Enjoy! Be well!
  • I am down fifty pounds due to intermittent fasting and eating healthy. My biggest secret is getting a lot of rest and stepping away from stressful situations. My journey has been going on for seven months thus far. I am also over sixty and one of the greatest mindsets is to first eat to get healthy and secondary is the weight loss that will occur. Arugula salads have been my go to food. I am still refining my dietary choices according to every video that I watch. Thank you!🌞🌻🙏🌼

I'm italian and you just described an average northern italian meal. I find it a bit funny, because people all over the world think that we survive on pizza and pasta.
  • Your videos on what to ADD to our diet and not just what to remove really help my motivation.
  • Don't know if anyone has told you that some of your words cut out on some of your videos. I have learned more about taking care of my health and body with your videos then what I have learned from my doctor. I love watching all of your videos. Keep them coming!
  • If there was a global award for medical explanation, the Dr Berg would win it every year… the best on line doctor we all wish lived near us..🙂
  • The fact that we get free medical videos on YouTube by Doctor Berg is truly a gift. 👍👍👍
  • My dad is German and lived till 93. Loved sauerkraut, even though he wasn't the most healthy eater. Truth to what you are saying Dr. Berg. I will pass this on to a couple of my friends who could use this info on this video and a few others.
  • Thank you for this, Dr. Berg! Invaluable. Thank you for making this important information that much more accessible.

I was talking to an Army nurse once...about brushing teeth. How important it is to Soldiers in the field. It was common knowledge to the Army Medical teams to keep a look out for bad teeth and gums on incoming casualties. Because...that meant the heart might have an issue.. Mouth health is related to heart health.
  • @MrJoefrmdyt
Doc, you need to make a book or guide to more meals like this.

My great uncle passed away at age 99 and he ate mcdonalds every morning for breakfast, worked with lead paint for idk 40 years, and smoked a pipe for 76 years. His doctor told him his lungs were coated in asbestos well into his 90s and never developed any sort of cancer. He was very lucky and blessed.
  • listening to dr Berg is like being in the classroom with the best professor discussing topic in its simplest and with clarity.
  • The best health advice I ever had was from my physical anthropology professor who told the class that there's a direct correlation between dental health and heart health.
  • Great video, keep in mind periodontal disease is closely related to vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D also helps keep tight junctions between the cells to prevent bacterial leakage. As a dentist i don't believe that periodontal disease spreads to cause dementia, and or cardiovascular disease, but that those individuals with periodontal disease have very low vitamin D levels, which correlated with major illness of every kind. fix the D level (preferably by natural sunlight exposure) which controls the gut microbiome, and a lot of problems disappear....

This is what I have been eating (arugala salad with oil, apple cider vinegar and fresh garlic) after fasting and my blood pressure is great. Trying hard to keep it down without using medicine. That salad keeps it down. Thank you for all of your information Dr. Berg.
