Andrew Weil, M.D., is a world-renowned leader and pioneer in the field of integrative medicine, a healing-oriented approach to health care that encompasses body, mind, and spirit.

After completing a medical internship at Mt. Zion Hospital in San Francisco, he worked a year with the National Institute of Mental Health, then wrote his first book, The Natural Mind. From 1971-1975, as a Fellow of the Institute of Current World Affairs, Dr. Weil traveled widely in North and South America and Africa collecting information on drug use in other cultures, medicinal plants, and alternative methods of treating disease. From 1971-1984 he was on the research staff of the Harvard Botanical Museum and conducted investigations of medicinal and psychoactive plants

Combining a Harvard education and a lifetime of practicing natural and preventive medicine, Dr. Weil is the founder and director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, where he also holds the Lovell-Jones Endowed Chair in Integrative Rheumatology and is Clinical Professor of Medicine and Professor of Public Health. The Center is the leading effort in the world to develop a comprehensive curriculum in integrative medicine. Graduates serve as directors of integrative medicine programs throughout the United States, and through its fellowship, the Center is now training doctors and nurse practitioners around the world.

When I turned 50 I decided to change my life mostly through spirituality and better diet and it’s working. I’m 56 now and by cutting out sugars and processed foods and eating whole grains and meditating and giving gratitude to the universe, all of my previous ailments went away and I feel better now than any other time in my adult life.
  • My grandmother passed on this year at 99 just shy away from 100 years. She was in Malawi. At 99 she was doing everything by herself, living in her own house, attending to her own needs like bathing, feeding etc. Her eyesight was good, memory sharp and hearing not too bad. She never used hearing aids but one had to speak louder around her especially in the last five years but could hold a conversation. Since I have known her, she only had one proper meal ( lunch) and in the evening she would have a cup of tea. She worked ( farming and was an entrepreneur all her life building small houses for rent until her dying day, guess this helped her as well).

I have healed many things with my mind and spirituality. I have super high inflammation in my body and now have zero. I did reduce sugar and started to eat better. I used no medications . I have had severe pain and worked with it with the mind with no meds. I am glad to hear others believe this.

I make everything from scratch at home and buy only from local farmers and grow my own food! 🕊 Huge difference in taste and smell and everything is natural and actually healthy. Screw the system
  • As humans we have certain species specific needs: - Community - Daily sufficient movement (lots of walking and some cardiovascular and strength training) - Being outdoors (sunshine and connecting to the earth through our skin) - Circadian rhythm (rising with sun; going to bed after sunset) - Proper nutrition (locally grown organic foods and high quality animal foods such as red meat, organs, unpasteurised milk and cheese) - A meaningful existence (something to live for other than yourself; giving to others; gratitude) - Proper sleep Its a simple but not so easy recipe in today's world.

I had pain in my body for 6 years and God healed me. After someone prayed for me that the pain goes away, I wake up the next day with no pain anymore. Haven't had pain since that day. God is good

Dr. Weill is a marvel. He is the first person whose work I read about nutrition. It’s been a lifelong interest ever since.
  • 79?😳?!?! He really does have an amazing youthfulness about him. The light in his eyes, his voice that sounds like that of a 30yr old, just the general way he carries himself.

I am 55, have been following Dr. Weil since I was about 30....He has been a treasure to me, and following his advice has added such benefit to my life. He is a true lifelong student and amazing teacher. I believe all doctors should strive to follow his example, and the rest of us should expect this type of care.
