I've never really had any interest in the Tudors (yet, haha) but the first book sounds intriguing from the fashion element, I really do feel that clothing can tell us so much of how people have lived and make them come alive. I'm currently watching North & South (2004) and that has made me crave rewatching Downton Abbey too for some reason! I guess I'm just in a period films kind of mood.

I once read a ‘novel’ about a woman living from 1715-1800, that consists for 90% or more of letters and diaries from several sources. It had the same kind of details. Like a friend of hers with such bad teeth that she didn’t look good and smelled bad. But also living in drafty old castles. And being in debt constantly. I was amazed how much I liked it. The protagonist was a character, that helped. But still
