And one dude saw this and decided "I'm gonna eat one of these everyday for the rest of my life!"
  • I like the way he said "Another Hamburger" when the second patty was placed.I bet at that moment lots of jaws dropped 😮! Lol 😂 It's still delicious to this day!

This ad most likely aired in late 1968 or early 1969. Although the Big Mac was invented in '67 it did not roll out nationwide until the next year. The earliest national print ad I can find for it was from March 1969.

This burger actually looks pretty good. Wish I had been around in 1967 to try it!

In the late 60’s and early ‘70’s, there was a lot of perky flute and trumpet noises in the soundtracks of TV commercials and sitcoms. I noticed that 10+ years later, the style had disappeared.

Notice the Big Mac was considered a big burger for the time in this commercial and in all McDonald's commercials in the 60s and 70s you see a 12 oz. drink along with a small bag of fries and small burger .Fast food restraunts started super sizing in the 80s

a Big Mac's a Big Mac. But a Quarter Pounder is a Royale with Cheese.

How they have shrunk over the years!! They should be called now "The Tiny Mac" or "The Micro Mac"

i remember eating 2 of these in under a minute when i was 14. john belushi from animal house was my inspiration
  • Announcer's voice sounds similar to the one you used to hear at drive-in intermission ads..."The snack bar is open! Where you'll find freshly popped popcorn, sparkling cold drinks, delicious freshly brewed piping-hot coffee, and all kinds of ice-cream candy and goodies to tempt you. We'll notify you in plenty of time before the movie begins, so stretch your legs and come to the snack bar, NOW!"
