What he says about the sound in old homes is so on point! I rode out Hurricane Ivan in a 1950s home here in FL... the sound was relentless. The back door kept blowing open every so often, house shook the whole time, all in the darkness of the night.

2:52 Camera Guy: “WHATEVER DUDE, I’m getting behind this pillar!”

I like how he explained what the wind sounds like and the sounds in the building
  • LOOK AT THIS ROOF DAVID!!! David did not volunteer for this, in fact David is now mad and ready to throw him overboard
  • I'm 72 years old. A retiree, living in New Orleans. My husband who was on site for Katrina 2005. I am stunned by ignorant viewers who DISLIKE these videos. Pray tell, what do you not care for? The astonishing destructive powers of nature when unleashed? The fashion choices.. worn by the this calm, articulate reporter? The 'production values"? Grow up. Please.

I was 7 years old during Hurricane Alicia. We didn’t evacuate. We rode it out in NW Houston. It’s one of my coolest memories. We stayed up all night, ate popcorn, watched the rain, listened to the wind, filled up the bathtubs with water. I got my very own flashlight! My brother and little cousin were 4 and 5. They did fall asleep and I remember waking them up to move them to the center of the house, away from windows. The whole thing was an adventure! Everybody talking about calming their scared children. Y’all coddle kids too much and take away really cool experiences from them. None of my family acted scared or panicked so I had no need to behave that way either. Children feed off of adult’s energy. Seeing a lake outside in the morning was like “Wow! Woah!! This is crazy!!!” It was all a wonderful experience and a good lesson in keeping your cool during an extreme weather situation.

Weather reportors have balls.. The wind is smashing windows, ripping up roofs and they are out getting footage...

Show me where the 20' storm surge is. that's what I want to see
  • One would think this guy would wear googles and a helmet in these conditions. A small piece of debris is a bullet.

I keep hearing that same "up down" musical tone that starts at 0:12 on so many videos of this storm. It's crazy.
