I moved to the Netherlands in 2015 from Japan, I would say I love this country more and more, Ik probeer ook Nederlands te leren, al is mijn niveau nog niet zo goed, but I am proud of this song for the Netherlands, and let’s win this year πŸŽ‰

Building up to the best 2 minutes I've had in 20 years (ALL THE FREAKING THROWBACKS TO THE NINETIES) to having me tear up almost all the 50 times I've seen this music video. Scooter, DJ Paul Elstak, Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo, 2 Unlimited... Winner or not, this will be a song I'll never forget!
  • First time I heard the song it was all about happy. Till I listened to it again. And again. And again. And again. Today it gave me goosebumps at the end. Joist lost his parents both at very young age. His dad ( papa in Dutch) told him live had no boundaries. Europe opened up their own boundaries long ago. Then the reference to Stromae’s papaoutai. He nailed it. I love it.
  • @MDelorean
Love your reaction, I knew that bit at the end would hit like a brick. Beautiful song, no matter what his final position will be, he's gonna tear the place down.
  • @Wappie667
You can't call this a song, this is art
  • @shonen84
Teared up at the end as well. He’s gonna win, this is basically our European National Anthem. He did his parents proud. Groetjes/schuss from Belgium ❀
  • @Mr.Finsent
Its those last sentences that had me all choked up as well. It sounds all very Party Party whoop whoop and then it got very real, very quick 😭 much ❀ from the Netherlands

I'm from Holland, 54 yrs old, love hardcore and hardstyle, lost both my parents and love this song. But your reaction, from all I saw on Youtube, you nailed it!!! ❀❀❀
  • @stefanbrouwer459
I love how this song is so incredibly catchy and happy and you just have to move along in the rhytm of the music, only to get completely plottwisted when it gives you that heartbreaking moment in the end. I dont care how far he will get, if this song is not at least top 5 then people have no taste in well written songs. It might nog be your style of music, bit this song is put together brilliantly
  • @bikespirit
from total ecstasy to tears, wonderful
  • @OldschoolRacer73
Almost every reaction video is the same. I am dutch and this song is gonna crash Eurovision. Going through all the emotions and going back in time. A well crafted and produced piece of art in 4:3 ratio. Europa jonguh! ❀
  • @AlyrArkhon
This is the best reaction video I have seen about this song. I think you reacted exactly as they hoped when they made this song and clip. Joost's music is not my favourite genre, but this is something else. This is art, it has layers and a lot of easter eggs, I did not expected this much from an eurovision song. (but after I read that for him it is not just a cool thing to be there, he said to his father when he was a child that one day he will sing in this contest. And here we are. He already won.
  • @S6oo9H
Growing up in The Netherlands in the '90, HAPPY HARDCORE 4 LIFE!! Best time of my life!! Wish we could go back to those HAPPY sounding vibes!! So cool to see typical happy hardcore sounds and type of filming!!
  • @krielkip
There is NO WAY that he won't win!! This is pure art 😍😍β™₯β™₯
  • You and your reaction are gold. The funny thing of your reaction is the New Kids part. I am born and still live in st michelgestel near maaskantje (hometown) of the new kids lol
  • @QueenofKings_22
Thank you for your reaction. This is a masterpiece!!! This is the winner of Eurovision Songcontest 2024, for me. No doubt. Research: Europapa = Eurodad. 12 points for The Netherlands. An ode to his father who passed away when he was 12 years and his mother who passed away when he was 13 years. His father told him that there are no borders / boundaries, no limits. Go, travel and discover Europe and the world. He promised his father that one day he will be singing at the Eurovision. They used to watch it together when he was a child. Now he made it, because he will be on stage this year. Everywhere he travelled he carried the pain and grief with him. The fire simbolise letting go of the pain of no having his parents and the start of a new chapter in his life.

I love that your friend didn't tell you what she thought of the song, so you could experience it for yourself. I've seen the video so many times now and the end still hits me in the feels every time. It makes the song so much more special to know Joost's meaning and journey behind it.
  • @loesbozon9700
being a fan of this man for almost 10 years feels insane. Being able to relate to an outcast and his fun youtube video's feel like an other lifetime. words can not disctribe how proud we are of this man
  • @weetjijwel050
The smile on your face during the entire video, says it all. You capture the essence of happy hardcore so well. Forget the worries and go mental in the moment. We can all go back to being boring on monday. You would have loved the 90's, no doubt 😁! Btw: the song is a tribute, to his parents and to Europe. The end catches me as well, but its meant to be positive. the burning house represents leaving the worries behind, and move on. Im Dutch and this video and song makes me SO proud. letsgoooo Joost!!
  • @ideploeg3470
Thanx to Joost there will be a revival of happy hardcore!! Even or maybe because of this last message in his song it shows a serious side !
